Spring into Reading: Beach Day

Fun in the sun at SIS!!

Our Terrific Twos showed up ready for the beach. With towels, sunglasses, hats and smiles the Twos lazed around with some of their favorite books and listened in on some cool beach stories.

With our strategies such as predicting, reading to understand, and connecting, the students had lots of their own stories to share about the beach.

Don't we all wish we could wear our beach gear everyday??

Spring into Reading: Camp Day

Tents, campfires, flashlights and bears oh my!!! Camp Day was a super success!

Pyjamas were in full swing as the Twos got comfortable around the Smart Board pretend fire and listened in on some spooky stories. Under the classroom tent students shared stories from their favourite books and got cozy in their sleeping bags.

Welcome Miss. Li Lin !!

Myself and the Terrific Two's would like to welcome Miss. Li Lin to our wonderful world of learning. Miss. Li Lin will be joining us from James Cook University in her final placement of seven weeks. Miss. Li Lin will be observing and helping out in class throughout her stay and also getting a chance to teach with support from Mr. Lewis.

It is very exciting to have a fresh new face in the classroom and the students welcomed Miss. Li Lin with open arms this morning. Student teachers bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the classroom and we are all very excited and lucky to have her!!

Spring into Reading: Crazy Hat Day

What a fun day!!

Students showed up in the morning with an amazing array of creative hats and hair. Cowboy word hat, hockey helmet, happy birthday word hat and crazy spikey hair were some of the amazing creation's just to name a few. 

A thank you goes out to all the parents who helped contribute to this fantastic day!

Social Studies celebrates International Day!

As part of our "Heritage and Identity" unit in Social Studies the two's have been learning lots about traditions and celebrations from around the world. To celebrate our learning the Terrific Two''s had a chance to dress in their cultural wear to represent their country. With a special presentation from Zara and Mommy the students learned more about Khasakstan and the Chinese Dragon Boat festival.

Overall another successful event in class with learning and fun!! Great job Twos!
